All ten parks and recreation levies appearing on Ohio ballots were approved by voters in the May primary last night.
The Ohio House moved quickly yesterday to pass House Bill 28, which would eliminate replacement levies for all political subdivisions. The House vote of 62-29 came after committee testimony from virtually every local government group (including OPRA) opposing the bill.
House Bill 28, which would eliminate replacement levies in Ohio for all political subdivisions, has had two hearings in the House Ways and Means Committee and an opponent hearing is scheduled for this week. OPRA will be proving written opponent testimony on the bill.
