All ten parks and recreation levies appearing on Ohio ballots were approved by voters in the May primary last night.

“It was a really good night for parks and recreation in Ohio,” said Woody Woodward, Executive Director of Ohio Parks and Recreation Association (OPRA). “Time and time again, Ohio voters are really clear in supporting the life-changing work that is happening in parks and recreation departments around the state.”

Woodward pointed to the replacement levy at Metroparks Toledo and the renewal for the Granville Joint Recreation District as particularly important. “Like many parks and recreation agencies, they are really leading a lot of what is happening in their communities. The voter support is affirming.”

The ten levy winners represent all sizes and agency types from around the state.

Over the past decade, more than 85% of parks and recreation levies have been approved by Ohio voters.
