Assistant Director of Recreation, Village of Valley View

Job Description
Assist with the daily planning and direction of the activities of the Parks and Recreation Department.  Manages department personnel, receives and responds to inquiries and complaints from officials and residents, and may represent the Village at meetings.  Develops and analyzes new and existing programs, plans and prepares special programs and events, recommends facility improvements, and takes administrative lead on planning and execution of some activities such as Summer Camp and other seasonal and/or annual programs.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate is proficient with Microsoft Office programs.  Experience with Sportsman Software is preferred but not required.  Bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Parks and Recreation Administration, Physical Education, Public Administration, or a related field.  Progressive professional experience in development and maintenance of park and recreation areas, programs, construction, or some other related field etc. is preferred.  Experience with summer camp planning and administration is preferred.  Confidentiality is a must, as is a public service oriented mindset and approach.  Must be available to periodically work non-traditional hours like weekends, evenings, and holidays.
