Health Fitness has a new opportunity for an Aquatics Manager at our Delhi Athletic Club client site located near Cincinnati, OH. This key individual will be responsible for leading the efforts to open and manage the aquatics program at a brand new 65,000 square foot facility which includes a cultural arts and banquet center in addition to the fitness and aquatics areas. In this position, you will be responsible for the overall aquatics program, youth time, and summer camps. Your responsibilities include recruiting, training, and scheduling staff; managing daily operations of the facilities and responding to patron needs; assisting during facility operations, rentals, and special events; assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of aquatics programming; distribution of program marketing materials; collection of program and event data; and completion of regular reports.
Key Accountabilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in the aquatic areas in accordance with HealthFitness policies, procedures and applicable laws including recruiting, onboarding, training, evaluating, developing, and succession planning. Determines and assigns work assignments to ensure staff remains challenged and productivity is maximized. Promotes and encourages career growth.
Ensures staff is properly trained and holds HealthFitness approved certifications needed for safe and effective program delivery. Provides continuous feedback and coaching to ensure quality of all program and service delivery. Conducts annual performance appraisals and may initiate formal corrective action as needed.
Leads regular staff meetings to ensure associates are informed about HealthFitness as well as onsite events, initiatives, and status. Attends Leadership meetings.
Submits payroll records and billing worksheets accurately and according to policy.
Hires and coaches Lifeguards, Swim Instructors and Aquatics Group Class Instructors ensuring that each program/department is meeting budget targets and maximizing participation and revenues.
Oversees the proper maintenance and cleanliness of the aquatic areas.
Opens/Closes facility as assigned and serves as POC (point of contact), 2nd Lifeguard, and conducts related administrative duties.
Distributes, collects, and analyzes program surveys.
Oversees the risk management of designated programs.
Maintains visibility and a positive customer service image on the aquatics deck. Attends and actively participates in staff meetings and various committees.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Recreation, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
A minimum of two years of relevant aquatic/fitness industry experience working in a customer-facing position required.
Lifeguarding with CPR/AED and First Aid Certification from American Red Cross.
Ability to lead, manage and operate teen/camps and aquatics program.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills including the ability to motivate others.
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands.
Computer proficiency in MS Office including at minimum Word
